Get The Garage Organized

Spring Into Garage Organization

If you haven’t tackled the garage yet this spring, now’s the perfect time. June is an ideal for clearing out clutter, reclaiming space, and giving your garage the reset it likely needs.

Organizing is all about letting go of what you no longer use and finding efficient, accessible homes for the things you do. That applies especially to the garage—often the most neglected space in the house.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25% of people with two-car garages don’t park any cars in them, and 32% only manage to squeeze in one. That’s a lot of unused potential due to stuff that simply needs sorting. Unfortunately, the clutter won’t magically disappear. It takes time and decision-making to determine what stays and what goes. That’s where our team at Chaos To Order comes in—we’re experts at guiding you through the process and helping you get organized quickly and effectively.

A great strategy is to divide the garage into zones. This creates structure and makes it easier to find (and return) items later. Some common zones include:

  • Kids’ gear: toys, bikes, outdoor games

  • Sports equipment: balls, golf clubs, workout gear

  • Auto care: cleaning supplies, tools, rags

  • Yard & garden: shovels, pots, seasonal decor

If the job feels overwhelming, don’t try to tackle everything at once. Pick one small area, start making decisions item by item, and build momentum from there. Once you’ve pared things down, you can create zones, consider bins or shelving, and get everything properly placed.

And if you need a coach through the chaos, our experienced organizers are here to help. Just be sure to schedule early—we’re in high demand this time of year!
